Positive Affirmations

Do you often find it hard to remind yourself that you’re doing a good job? Well, Mama you are not alone. As Mum’s I believe that we are own worst critics. Whether we are being to hard on ourselves because we haven’t got the housework done or we are hating the outfit we’ve chosen for the day because we don’t look as good as we did before having our babies. When it comes down to it, we are always the ones being the hardest on ourselves.

But, just take a second to think about something I said above… “before having our babies”

That’s right, once upon a time you just had to care for you. I mean maybe also your partner, dog, cat, bird, fish and everything else in-between.. but ultimately, just you. If you wanted to take a bath ‘just because’ you could do that, if you wanted to spend the day at the movies watching the newest chick-flick you could also do that. Nothing was stopping you.

But, we made one of life’s biggest decisions and that was to have a baby. These babies have shown us a love we didn’t know possible, they’ve taught us things about ourselves we may have never known, they’ve taught us passion, courage, resilience, love, strength, adaptability, persereverance and so much more. However, in doing so many of us seem to loose ourselves. We spend our days loving on our babies and making them our priority that we forget about ourselves. No longer can we just go to the movies or jump in the bath when we want. Well, we could…. but it’s simply just not the same.

Whilst things aren’t like they used to be it doesn’t mean we have to stop doing things for ourselves. It is so so important to remember to take care of yourself, just like you take care of your baby. A simple way I like to encourage Mamas to do this is through positive affirmations. Whether it’s as you brush your hair, as you choose your outfit or as you’re driving around just remember to say something positive about yourself.

I can reach my goals!

I am strong!

I deserve happiness!

If you tell yourself these positive affirmations, guess what? You may actually start to believe in them, and how cool is that.

In 2025 I want you to make sure you are prioritising yourself, just as much as you are prioritising your family.

Big love, Em!
